CS Charles Keter resigns, Joins Ruto's UDA

A good number of Cabinet Secretaries and Chief Administrative Secretaries planning to vie in the 2022 elections have already resigned in accordance with the law.

The law requires state officers to resign at least six months before the date of the General Election.

On February 3, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered civil servants eying elective seats in the August polls to resign by February 8.

In a notice issued by the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, the president directed those with political ambitions to vacate their offices before February 8, a day before the deadline set by law.

Below is a list of the CS and CAS who have already resigned;

Charles Keter, CS Devolution

Adam Mohammed, Industrialisation CS

John Munyes, CS Petroleum and Mining

Wavinya Ndeti, CAS transport

Joseph Boinnet, CAS Tourism

Hassan Noor Hassan, Education CAS

Ken Obura, East Africa Community CAS

Fred Segor, Wildlife PS

All officers are required to submit their resignation letters, provide details of work plans in progress, annotate all public assets handed over as well as issue the status of priority National development programmes and projects.
