Raila Odinga to be ICC witness against William Ruto?

Yes it is only 24 hours since the Kenya Forum speculated on why Raila Odinga is really in the USA and whether it has anything to do with his health but here is a report we have found from Fox News Africa published on March 12 (and not repeated in the Kenyan media as far as we can see) which suggests an entirely different reason for his visit and for why it has been extended by a month. RAILA ODINGA’S US VISIT CREATES NEW CONTOVERSIES AND BRINGS THE ICC ANGLE. IS HE ONE OF THE WITNESSES OF ICC AGAINST WILLIAM RUTO? – REVELATIONS (Fox News Africa, March 12)

Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, on Sunday left the country for a 2-month tour of the United States where he will address governance forums in different universities in the US.

But the trip of Raila to the US has elicited sharp reactions from United Republican Party (URP) leaders, who have openly said that Raila Odinga’s trip to the US has a hidden agenda.

According to a senior URP leader who is a close ally of Deputy President, William Ruto, Raila’s trip to the US is not an ordinary tour.

He argued that Raila Odinga was initially scheduled to leave for one month but later it was changed to two months immediately after William Ruto’s defence at ICC asked for leave till after Easter Holidays.

“We were told he was going to the US for one month. He suddenly changed that to two months after Ruto’s defense asked for adjournment till after Easter,” the official said.

“We can now believe that he is an ICC witness who is set to testify against Ruto at ICC,” he added.

Hague sources indicate that a senior political figure in Kenya will soon testify against William Ruto.

THE KENYA FORUM ASKS…

If Raila Odinga were to give testimony to the ICC at The Hague against Ruto, will he be named, or appear as a numbered, unnamed witness?
