According to a recent poll done by Strategic Africa, President Uhuru Kenyatta would still beat Raila Odinga if the elections were to be called today. The poll conducted between May 6 and 9 shows that 45.4 percent of the respondents would vote for Uhuru Kenyatta followed by 37.1 percent who would vote for CORD’s Raila Odinga. A high percentage of those who prefer Uhuru for president would want Deputy President William Ruto as his running mate (83 per cent). Those who would choose Raila would want Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to be his running mate (56.5 per cent).
Most Kenyans would not re-elect their MPs, governors and senators if we were to have elections today. 56 per cent of respondents would not re-elect their governors, while another 55.1 per cent and 51.7 per cent said they would not re-elect their MPs and Senators, respectively.
