International Association Female Judges Laud Kenyatta

The International Association of Female Judges (IAWJ) has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for his recent appointment of 16 female judges, saying he has  “set the pace in securing equal opportunities for all”.

The move is a step in the right direction and in line with the global conversation of providing equal leadership spaces for both men and women.

Kenya’s First Female Justice Justice

Kenya had another first in May 2021, when Lady Justice Martha Karambu Koome was sworn into office as the fifteenth and Kenya’s first female Chief Justice.

The Judiciary is now headed by women; considering that the Chief Justice, the Deputy Chief Justice, and the Chief Registrar of Judiciary are all women.
