The Independent Election and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has Gazetted the lists of ‘Independent’ MPs and Senators as prescribed under the Constitution:
Article 97 (1) (c) – Membership of the National Assembly – ‘Twelve members nominated by parliamentary political parties according to their proportion of members of the National Assembly’;
Article 98 (1) (b) – Membership of the Senate – ‘Sixteen women members who shall be nominated by political parties according to their proportion of members of the Senate’;
Article 98 (1) (c) – Membership of the Senate – ‘Two members, being one man and one woman, representing the youth’;
Article 98 (1) (d) – Membership of the Senate – ‘Two members, being one man and one woman, representing persons with disabilities’.
