Ezekiel Mutua loses his diplomatic passport

The Immigration Department ordered the Kenya Film Classification Board Chief Executive Ezekiel Mutua yesterday to surrender his diplomatic passport for an ordinary as he is not entitled to one.

According to the Immigration Department, Ezekiel Mutua is no longer eligible to hold the diplomatic passport, which he acquired in February 2013 when he was working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and ought to have returned it the moment he left the docket.

“Since Mr. Mutua does not fall in the Third schedule of persons entitled to Diplomatic passports, as per the Kenya Subsidiary Legislation 2012, he has been asked to surrender it for an ordinary one,”tweeted the Immigration Department .

Trouble for the controversial Ezekiel Mutua, who had also tried his hand at the just concluded interviews by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for the Chief Justice position, began when he made what the public perceived as a “chest-thumping” post on facebook about his stand on the LGBT group.

“Because of my stand on moral values, including the banning of content promoting LGBT and Atheists culture in Kenya, someone wrote in a local daily that I will never get visa to the U.S. Well, I not only got it but it came on a Diplomatic Passport and I didn’t even have to go to the Embassy for biometrics or pay the visa application fee. America here we come… TO GOD BE THE GLORY!” read Mutua’s post.

This will be the second time social media is costing Ezekiel Mutua as during the Chief Justice interviews, he was also put on the spot over utterances he made years ago after president Uhuru assumed office , saying that he can never recognize president Uhuru, who he still casually referred to as “Mr” Uhuru, as president of Kenya.
