As NYS scandal gets larger, Waiguru asks for police protection. As the missing money case gets messier, she says her life is in danger.
Former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru claims that her life is in danger and as asked the inspector of police for more protection.
Waiguru says she fears for her life after receiving veiled threats from powerful politicians due to her damning affidavit that implicated powerful Jubilee leaders; Aden Duale, Kipchumba Murkomen and Deputy President’s brother.
Last week, the former CS made a shocking revelation after she linked key politicians in the Jubilee coalition to the NYS scandal. (link article on the same)
National assembly majority leader Adan Duale is one of the politicians the former CS accuses of having threatened her. Waiguru also cites other senior politicians who have also accused her of breaking the Jubilee coalition.
“Knowing Kenya’s political climate and the influence that these politicians command, I am naturally fearful for my life.
I am also worried that there will be attempts to interfere with investigations so as to ensure there are trumped-up charges against me,” she wrote in the letter received at police headquarters yesterday.
