Pre-school, primary school, and secondary schools will have a first term lasting 13 weeks and a half term lasting 3 days between February 29 and March 3, 2024.
The Ministry of Education has released the 2024 school calendar for pre-primary, primary, secondary schools and teachers training colleges with reporting dates set for January 8 across the four levels.

“Term two will run for 14 weeks, starting on 29th April to 2nd August 2024 with the half term set for 20th – 23rd August 2024,” the ministry stated in a bulletin detailing term dates released on Friday.
Students will break for a 10-week holiday at the end of October 2023 to pave the way for national assessments administered by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
The third term, which runs from August 26 to October 25, 2024, will be the shortest, lasting just 9 weeks. Learners will then take a break and resume on January 3, 2025.
KNEC-administered Kenya Intermediate Education Assessment (KILEA) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will start on October 28 through October 31, 2024.
KCSE exams will be held from November 4 to November 22, 2024.
Teachers’ training colleges will end their first term on 5th April 2024 and break for holidays from 8th to 26th April 2024.
