Chandarana supermarkets have become the latest brand to receive a public backlash and trend online for the wrong reasons following a scandalous email that was leaked by a concerned customer.

In the email, that was visibly drafted by a personnel who had poor grasp of English, Chandarana asserts that the entity is keen on focusing on “white people to attract business”.

Chandarana has following a public uproar apologized for the racist mail and blamed the offence on a “very new employee” who lacks “profiencey in English”.

“Her lack of proficiency in English language is an easy way to justify this horrendous error but it does not excuse it in any way,” Chandarana said in a statement.

SONKO REVOKES CHANDARANA LICENCES OVER RACIST SLUR

Nairobi Governor cancelled the operating licences of Chandarana Foodplus Supermarkets on Sunday evening over the racial bias allegations.

Sonko said he had ordered his county officers to ensure enforcement of the shutdown starting Monday.

A quick look by our correspondent showed that  all Chandarana outlets including Yaya Center, Rosslyn Rivierra Mall, Lavington and Ngara are open and its business as usual.
