Migori Governor Okoth Obado will remain in remand at the Industrial Area Prison after Justice Jessie Messi rejected his application for bail in the case relating to the murder of university student Sharon Otieno.
Migori Governor Okoth Obado will remain in remand at the Industrial Area Prison until October 8 after Justice Jessie Messi rejected his application for bail in the case relating to the murder of university student Sharon Otieno.
The prosecution wants him to stay behind bars for it is highly likely that he may interfere with the case.
Obado was on Monday charged alongside others (his aides) with aiding the murder of Sharon Otieno.
The governor pleaded “not guilty” to the murder charges and has been remanded at Industrial Area prison pending a ruling on his bail application.
SHARON OTIENO MURDERED
Sharon, who was having an affair with the governor, went missing on September 3, only for her mutilated body to be discovered three days later, at Kodera Forest. She was seven months pregnant with Obado’s child.
