Failed Al Shabaab Attack In Garissa

The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) has repulsed a group of suspected Al shabaab militia, who had launched an attack at a Chinese construction  camp  in Shimbirey  Garissa county.

The gunmen were reportedly targeting construction workers working on a road in the area.

KDF responded promptly and exchanged fire with the militants, forcing them to retreat.

According to Inspector general of police, some attackers fled with serious gunshot wounds.

The failed Garissa attack comes just days after the Dusit hotel attack that left 21 people dead.

TAXI DRIVER DRIVES TWO AL SHABAAB SUSPECTS IN POLICE CAMP

Two days ago, two suspected Al Shabaab gunmen were arrested in Garissa, after a taxi driver in a car they were travelling in drove them to an Administration police (AP) camp.

The two gunmen, identified as Aden Hassan and Ali Guyo, aged 19 and 21 are from are both Somalis from Kismayo.  They were found with 3 pistols, 50 bullets and other ammunition.

The taxi driver is said to have gotten suspicious when the two kept asking him to change routes.
