A love triangle is top among the theories the police is pursuing in the investigations of the brutal murder of LGBTQ Activist Edwin Chiloba.
The prime suspect in the murder of Edwin Chiloba is Jackton Odhiambo, 24, his lover, who has since been arrested. Odhiambo allegedly confessed to killing the model over allegations that he cheated on him.
Police revealed Jackton executed the murder with the help of his two friends. He allegedly revealed that he murdered Chiloba as revenge for betraying him.
Two more accomplices who are believed to have helped him carry the metal box that he had concealed Edwin’s body have since been arrested.
Jackton had been staying with the deceased for one year in Eldoret. The two lived together as husband and wife. Witnesses that include the caretaker of the apartment they lived in reported to the police that they had seen him a day earlier with the box in the late Chiloba’s body was found stashed.
The love triangle narrative has somehow cleared the air following the massive uproar over “intolerance” that was sparked on social media as folks blamed Chiloba’s murder on hate against the LGBTQ community.
Residents discovered Edwin Chiloba’s body in the metal box, dumped on the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road, in Kapsaret, Uasin Gishu county on Tuesday and alerted the police.
According to Chiloba’s neighbours, they last saw him on new year’s eve when he came back home in the company of two men, who included his partner Jackton. They also reported to have heard a commotion and cries the same night.
Chiloba was a known LGBTQ advocate who used fashion as a tool of advocacy for the community.
