The widow of the late Dr Robert Ouko, Kenya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs who was murdered at Got Alila near their Koru farm on the morning of 13th February 1990, has been killed in car crash at Muhoroni this afternoon.

Mrs Ouko was on her way back from attending the swearing-in ceremony of the Governor for Kisumu, Anyang Nyong’o, at the Kenyatta Sports Ground when the car she was in is said to have rolled and crashed.

Mrs Ouko was taken to the Siolam Hospital in Kericho where she was pronounced dead.

In March of this year the ground-breaking television documentary on the murder of Dr Robert Ouko for Citizen TV, Murder at Got Alila: Who Killed Dr Robert Ouko and Why?included an interview with Christabel talking about her husband’s return from Washington DC in February 1990 just before he was murdered and a further interview with author Sam Okello who spoke to Mrs Ouko about her husband’s murder.
