Paul Kobia arrested for assaulting Congo trader

Controversial businessman Paul Kobia has been arrested for abducting and assaulting a Congolese trader on Wednesday night in Nairobi.

Kobia was arrested in his house in Kileleshwa following a complaint filed by the Congolese with the police. The Congolese national, only identified by the name Londale, reportedly sells gold and was allegedly hurt in the incident.

Kobia and his bodyguards are said to have stormed Super Lodge along Kindaruma Road in Kilimani where Londale lived before dragging him out of the premises and forcing him in a waiting car.

Guards at the premises said that Kobia shot in the air to keep them off.
According to the police, Kobia alleges that the Congolese trader owes him money and he had gone to collect it.

“He claims the Congolese has his money but we are concerned with the manner in which he conducted himself,” Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome
