The court was told that while defiling the minors, Nzuki would quote the Bible to convince them that it was right and that the Bible allowed it.
Stephen Nzuki,a former director of Screams Africa Children’s Home in Utawala, has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for defiling four minors entrusted in his care.
According to trial magistrate Zeinab Abdul, the prosecution proved the case against Stephen Nzuki beyond reasonable doubt.
Nzuki was found guilty of defiling the minors including boys under the age of 13 between the years 2010 -2016.
The court was told that while defiling the minors, Nzuki would quote the Bible to convince them that it was right and that the Bible allowed it.
During the hearing, the minors identified Nzuki as the abuser. The man had denied multiple charges of sodomy, committing indecent acts with children and attempted defilement.
Sexual violence has been on the rise in Kenya, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. Last year, a 45-year-old primary school teacher was sentenced to 20 years for defiling a 13-year-old standard six pupil.
Senior Principal Magistrate, David Ndungi, in his ruling, said the teacher had violated the rights of the child instead of protecting her.
