African development NGO aid workers killed in Kenya. The African Development Solutions workers died as a result of an IED.
Four aid workers were on Tuesday night killed after their vehicle ran over an Improvised Explosive Device on the Dadaab-Kulan road, Garissa County.
According to North Eastern Regional Commissioner Mohamud Saleh, the aid workers were from an NGO known as African Development Solutions (ADESO) and were travelling to their offices in Dobley, Somalia.
The mines are believed to have been planted by Al-Shabaab.
The incident comes just days after three police administration police officers were killed in Liboi under similar circumstances in attacks that have so far claimed the lives of twenty officers in the last two weeks.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet had warned that Al Shabaab terrorists are planning to cross over into the country to launch attacks at the border areas, saying the militia is desperate following heightened operation by KDF in Somalia and have resorted to break into small groups and sneak in the country.
Boinnet has urged the public across the country to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
Al-Shabaab has launched a series of deadly attacks in Kenya, especially following the Kenya defense forces (KDF) invasion into Somalia in 2011. Key among these attacks is the Westgate Mall and the Garissa University attacks.
