Doctors at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) have successfully removed the knife stuck in the cheek of the woman from Wajir County, who was ruthlessly stabbed with a 10 inch dagger by her husband in a domestic dispute yesterday.

32 year old Fatuma Ibrahim had been stubbed several times and was initially taken to Wajir County Referral Hospital yesterday morning with severe bleeding from knife wounds but doctors at the facility were unable to dislodge the dagger lodged in her cheek.

The assailant, Mohamed Deeq, 36, who is now in police custody allegedly stabbed Fatuma severally all over her body and only stopped when the dagger got stuck in her cheekbone.

AMREF airlifted her from Wajir to KNH where she underwent the surgery at about midnight.

Kenyans took to social media to condemn the incident and violence against woman generally considering that Fatuma’s incident comes days after another woman was brutally battered by her husband after she allegedly declared her interest for contesting in an elective post in the 2017 elections.
