The meteorological department has warned of oncoming strong winds and high seas at the Kenyan coast and has particularly cautioned operators of small aircraft and fishermen to be vigilant.

“Inexperienced marine sailors especially those operating small vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions,” the alert said.
According to the weatherman, the strong south to south-east winds and high seas with speed of 145 to 25 knots will prevail from October 23 – 26th.
“waves height of 6-7 feet near shore with occasional seas of up to 12 feet. Wave heights of 9 to 12 feet offshore with occasional feet of up to 15 feet,” the weatherman said in a statement.
The weatherman also announced that rainfall is expected over several parts of the country mainly within the Coast, the Northeast, the Southeast Lowlands and parts of the Central.
