Education CS George Magoha has dismissed calls to call off the national exams, which are scheduled to kick off from October when school open for third term, saying it’s too early to make that call.
“We have not reached a point where we are saying we’re going to postpone this or that because as far as I am concerned there is no reason to postpone the exams,” he said.
Magoha said the government is monitoring the COVID-19 situation and would advise Kenyans if the need to postpone the KCPE and KCSE exams arise.
“The Ministry of Education is working on all possible scenarios regarding the school calendar that will tie in with the national Government response to #coronaviruske”.
He further urged parents and all stakeholders to remain calm and let children enjoy their April school Holiday.
