Ring leader of Al-Shabaab Garissa University attack killed. The alleged organiser of the attack was killed on the 1st of June.
The jihadist who was the ring leader behind the deadly Garissa University terror attack in 2015 is said to have been killed yesterday in a Special Forces raid in southern Somalia.
According to Somali’s officials, the terrorist identified as Mohamed Kuno, was among sixteen others, who were killed by Somali troops in a raid in Kismayo, southwestern Somalia.
“Sixteen armed men, four of them senior commanders including Mohamed Mohamud Ali known as Dulyadin were killed by the Somali commandos and the special forces of the Jubaland,” said Abdirashid Janan, Minister of State Security for Jubaland.
Four of the sixteen terrorists, who were killed, including Mohammed Kuno, are said to have been senior commanders of Al-Shabaab.
Al-Shabaab gunmen raided Garissa University on 2nd April 2015, killing 148 students, in the worst terror attack in Kenya after the 1998 bomb blast.
At least 10 people, including two senior Somali MPs were killed on Wednesday when Al shabaab detonated a car bomb outside Ambassador Hotel in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
