A woman in Masii, Machakos County is nursing injuries after her husband of 7 years, attacked her with a panga for failure to bear him children.

According to Daily Nation, Stephen Ngila Thenge, 34 attacked his wife Jackline Mwende, 27, on July 24 and Chopped off her hands. Mwende is also nursing injuries on her neck and head.

“He moved out of our house three months ago and came back on Sunday (July 24) at around 8.30pm. When I opened the door, he said, ‘Today is your last day’ and started slashing me with the panga.” As reported by the Daily Nation.

Cases of domestic violence have been on the rise in the country lately with the above incident coming barely a week after Edna Nyainda, 22, a graduate of Kenyatta University was stabbed to death by her boyfriend last week on Monday inside their rented apartment at Kahawa Wendani.

In January this year, 32-year-old Fatuma Ibrahim from Wajir county also made headlines after her husband ruthlessly stabbed her with a 10-inch dagger, which was left stuck on her cheek.
