The Ministry of Health has today confirmed the first case of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case in Nairobi. A Kenyan citizen who returned the USA via London, the United Kingdom on the 5th March 2020. CS Mutahi Kagwe said.
Kenya has just announced the first positive case of COVID -19 in the country.
According to the Cabinet Secretary of Health Mutahi Kagwe, the first coronavirus in Kenya case was confirmed yesterday from a Kenyan female Citizen who returned to the country from the US via London on March 5.
“The Ministry of Health has today confirmed the first case of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case in Nairobi. A Kenyan citizen who returned from the USA via London, the United Kingdom on the 5th March 2020. She was confirmed positive at NIC Labs,” CS Mutahi Kagwe said.
The ministry has also embarked on sensitizing citizens on measures to undertake to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
“No time for Profits”
The CS also warned greedy traders not to take advantage of the situation to make profits.
“This is not the time to make abnormal profits by charging abnormal prices for medicine, goods and services. It will be immoral for anyone to take advantage of a situation like this one,” said Mutahi Kagwe
