At least 20 people are reported to have died in Moshi, Tanzania on Saturday, following a stampede at a crusade, allegedly as they tried to “walk through an anointed path”.
The tragedy reportedly occurred in a crusade led by the popular preacher, Boniface Mwamposa, of Arise and Shine Ministry Tanzania.
According to witness accounts, the preacher is said to have poured ” holy oil” on the ground and the crowd surged towards the premises to touch and walk on it in the hope of tapping into blessings and being cured of sickness.
The preacher took off after the incident and Tanzanian authorities have called on him to surrender.
