Raymond Ofula has starred in several local and regional TV productions
Kenya’s seasoned actor Raymond Ofula has been honoured with an Icon in Africa Movie Industry award in the 2017 Afro-Heritage Broadcasting & Entertainment Awards (AHBEA), which took place in a red carpet event on Saturday in Houston texas.
According to the organisers Raymond Ofula, who has starred in several local and regional TV productions, has been feted the prestigious award owing to his “hard work, dedication and bulk of achievements”.
“This will be yet another feather in my cap for which I thank God for the gift of talent. To the organizers and my fans locally and now internationally I say thank you with great humility for the recognition, honours, accolades and support,” he said on his Facebook page.
Unfortunately, Raymond Ofula missed his flight and could not make it the awarding ceremony.
“I am among the nominees but will not be physically present to receive the award since I missed my flight,”
Now in its 3rd edition, the Afro-Heritage Broadcasting & Entertainment Awards celebrate and honor eminent Africans who have contributed to the development of the race through their crafts and talents, especially in the entertainment and the broadcasting industries.
M-NET AFRICA WALL OF FAME
In 2013 Mr Ofula was inducted into M-net Africa’s wall of fame and the same year the Kenyan government awarded him a certificate of recognition for his contribution in the arts industry.
Locally, Raymond Ofula has been awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award by Sanaa Theatre Awards (2014) and River Wood Awards (2017), which included the Warrior of Film Industry. He has also bagged a Kalasha Award for Best Actor in a Tv series (Nairobi Law) 2011.
