Ronald Bukusi has resigned as the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).
According to KRU, Ronald Bukusi has reigned over personal reasons.
“The Kenya Rugby Union Board of Directors announces to all Affiliates, Sponsors and the rugby fraternity that it has received with regret notice from Mr. Ronald Bukusi of his decision to resign as the Chief Executive Officer of KRU for personal reasons,” KRU announced in a statement.
The board has appointed Sylvia Kamau as acting CEO until December.
Bukusi had served as CEO of Kenya Rugby Union since February 2015.
INNOCENT SIMIYU REINSTATED AS RUGY COACH
Ronald Bukusi’s resignation, which rugby fans are treating with suspicion, comes just a month after Innocent Simuyu was reinstated as coach of the national rugby team following his controversial sacking after the 2018 Paris Sevens drama that saw the Shujaas block out sponsor’s (Brand Kenya) branding.
The Sh20 million Brand Kenya sponsorship deal with KRU was consequently canceled due to a breach of contract.
