Origi injury mars Liverpool 4-0 win over Everton. Divock Origin was tackled by Everton’s Funes Mori and many fans are outraged.
The internet broke with criticism for Everton yesterday, after Ramiro Funes Mori ruthlessly stamped Liverpool’s Divock Origi in a horrific tackle that saw the celebrated striker leave the pitch in a stretcher.
Fans across the globe took to twitter under the hashtag #Origi to condemn the incident and show support for the star as everyone crossed fingers praying that the injury was not as bad as it had appeared judging from the awful smashing.
It was therefore a sigh of relief when The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp announced that the striker did not suffer a broken ankle but ligament damage.
21 year old Origi had opened the scoring with a fine header for his 10th of the season before Mamadou Sakho made it 2-0 in first half stoppage time.
Amazingly, Liverpool went ahead to beat Everton 4-0 although Origi’s injury cast a big shadow on the victory.
“It is a bit of a shadow on the game….Usually after a 4-0 I can’t keep the smile off my face but we have to see what happens,” said Klopp.
Below are some of the tweets under the #Origi
kenneth JFT96 : Let’s hope we hear some good news about Origi.. i was thrilled about the win but gutted for Origi.
Mike Hassey: Well I should be feeling good after a great win unfortunately Origi injury has tainted it somewhat. Shocking tackle. @Everton are so dirty it’s ridiculous Glad Liverpool smashed them
Origasmic : Was terrible to see Origi injured last night. How many players have we lost in training match injuries this season now?
