Kenya is facing a World Cup ban by Fifa, over the financial saga surrounding the settlement of money owed to former Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche for unlawful sacking.

Amrouche ruled out giving any further extension to Kenya’s Football Federation (KFF) to pay him delayed funds.

Fifa had warned that failure to pay the coach his money would  result in exclusion from the World Cup and had in the latest communication to FKF given the Federation up to April 30 to conclude the payment to avoid further sanctions.

The world football governing body is expected to make it’s decision on May 18 but FKF has maintained that it does not have the money to pay Amrouche.

“We have received the response from FIFA and they have said they will make the final decision on May 18^th. We will wait for it but as at now, we do not have that kind of money to pay out. We are struggling to make other ends meet and as at now, it is difficult for us,” FKF boss Nick Mwendwa said in a press briefing.

The government said it would not be involved in the scandal and asked the Federation to take care of its own mess
