A journalist attached to the Nation Media group has narrated a horrific ordeal that saw him abducted together with his female source, who has just been discovered dead in Kodera forest, Homabay County.
Its a story that reads like a scene of a crime, action-packed Hollywood thriller, but unlike with a movie scene, which makes you cringe on your coach during a horrifying scene but gives you the room to sigh in relief at the end with the knowledge that it was just acting, this particular story is as real as it gets and sends a flash of chills down the spine!
A journalist attached to the Nation Media group has narrated a horrific ordeal that saw him abducted together with his female source, who has just been discovered dead in Kodera forest, Homabay County.
According to the journalist, Barrack Oduor, he had been pursuing a story from a lady identified as Sharon Otieno, who had allegedly given him a lead to a “love gone sour” story surrounding her and a Migori county official.
Oduor, as reported by the Daily Nation, revealed that the Personal Assistant to Migori Governor Okoth Obando one Michael Oyamo had agreed to meet Sharon and him on Wednesday, to “give the journalist more details on the saga”.
“Mr Oduor says his source had agreed to meet him at Rodi Kopany in Homa Bay before he changed venues twice, finally settling for Rongo. Still, there was no suspicion as the man is a well-known county official,” The Daily Nation reports.
Oyamo drove to the venue in the company of another man and asked Oduor and Sharon to join them in the car so that they could drive to a different location. The two complied but the journey would turn tragic.
“They left Rongo eventually, with Mr Oyamo, the driver, and another man. But a few minutes later, Mr Oyamo directed the driver to stop and he stepped out. Two men in black immediately jumped in, sandwiching Mr Oduor and Sharon in the back seat, as the car sped off, without Mr Oyamo,” Tha Nation further states.
Oduor sensed danger when the men allegedly started strangling them and in the process, he realised his door was not locked so he took a dive.
He escaped unhurt but is nursing severe injuries on his knees.
SHARON OTIENO MURDERED
Sharon, who was pursuing a degree in Medical Records and Information at Rongo University, went missing since that fateful September 3, only to be discovered earlier today, murdered at Kodera Forest. She was reportedly seven months pregnant.
The Migori governor’s personal assistant was arrested on Tuesday for questioning after the NTV journalist recorded a statement with the police.
Governor Okoth Obado has distanced himself from the saga, saying his aide was acting on his accord.
The chilling murder of Sharon Otieno comes in the wake of the attempted murder saga surrounding Garissa governor Ali Korane.
