Garissa governor Ali Korane was arrested alongside three other people whom police believe were involved in the attempted murder of Idriss Mukhtar the former county executive.
Police have arrested Garissa Governor Ali Korane in connection to last week’s shooting of ex-County Finance County Executive Idriss Mukhtar.
Idris Aden Mukhtar was shot in the head at close range last Sunday and left for dead outside a hotel in Kileleshwa.
According to police reports, a gunman followed Idris to his car where they shot him and took off without stealing any valuables.
The county executive was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he is still admitted in critical condition. He had allegedly complained about death threats prior to the incident.

The probe on the shooting was accelerated by a directive from the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji who demanded the file within a week.
Idris Mukhtar had been sacked by the former Garissa administration and moved to court where he was awarded Sh50 million for wrongful sacking.
