Duale and Keter were reacting to the statements Odinga made on Friday last week alleging that Ruto is innocent of the charges facing him at the ICC.
National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Kericho Senator Charles Keter have demanded that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga records a statement with the police over Deputy President William Ruto’s case at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“We are telling Raila Odinga and his cohorts that he was part and parcel of the schemes and individuals who fixed the Deputy President and he cannot change that script,” alleged Duale.
The two, who were speaking at Litein in Bureti Constituency during the issuance of driving licences and certificates to boda boda operators and hairdressers respectively that had been sponsored through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), were reacting to the statements Odinga made on Friday last week alleging that Ruto is innocent of the charges facing him at the ICC.
OBURU ODINGA TO TESTIFY IN FAVOUR OF RUTO
Politicians allied to the Jubilee coalition have been calling on CORD leader Raila Odinga to give evidence at the International Criminal Court to exonerate Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Arap Sang.
The legislators argue that Ruto was in Raila’s camp prior to the 2007 disputed polls and he should therefore be the one to have Ruto’s back and not his brother, Oburu Odinga, who agreed to become Ruto’s defense witness.
“We respect Raila’s brother Oburu for his offer to testify. But Mr Odinga cannot be replaced by his brother. We want him to personally testify in this case so that the two can be freed,” Mr Duale said, adding that the allegations of witness procurement were proof that the case was political from the start.
