Norwegian security has officially confirmed that one of the terrorists killed in the Westgate shopping mall siege in 2013 was its citizen.

Hassan Dhuhulow, who is of Somali decent, is said to have been 23 years at the time of his death, is reported to have arrived in Norway at the age of nine in 1999 with reports indicating that the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) knew about his radicalization and were monitoring him prior to the Westgate attack.

The Westgate siege left 67 people dead with police reports indicating that all the four terrorists involved were also killed. On 4 November 2013, a Kenyan court charged four Somali nationals with harbouring the gunmen in their homes, with each pleading not guilty.

WESTGATE REOPENS AFTER TRAGEDY

On July 18 this year, almost two years after the bloody terrorist attack the Westgate mall reopened. The mall has hired Israeli firm I.R.G. to oversee security and installed x-ray machines, explosive detectors and bullet-proof guard towers.
