Any legal challenges to the October 26 presidential election in Kenya have to be filed with the Supreme Court by midnight tonight.
THE STRANGE CASE OF HARUN MWAU
Kenya’s election saga entered strange and uncharted territory today when the lawyer for the former MP for Kilome, Harun Mwau, challenged the result of the presidential re-run election on October 26 but no one as yet knows why, or on what grounds he has done so.
The lawyer for Mr Mwau filed a petition this afternoon at the Supreme Court to overturn the election result which saw Kenyatta ‘win’ the second presidential election with over 98 percent of the vote in the absence of opposition Raila Odinga who had earlier withdrawn from the race.
However, the grounds for Harun Mwau’s legal action are as yet not known as his lawyer refused to answer any questions!
