17-year-old, Manraj Singh, a student at Melvin Jones Lions Academy in Nakuru County has been awarded the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for his exemplary performance in the 2016 Cambridge International examinations.
Manraj was ranked the overall winner in mathematics worldwide in the International General Certificate Of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams tested across 10,000 schools in 160 countries.
He attributed his success to God, hardwork and sacrifice saying that although he expected to perform well, he never imagined being the top student in the world.
“I always wanted to excel. For an entire month, I kept on studying until in the late night. It is also God who helped me through because I could not make it on my own,” said Manraj.
