KFCB bans Coca Cola advert for indecency. In the advert, a couple are depicted in close, cozy relations deemed too raunchy for tv.
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has banned the latest Coke TV commercial from running due to what the content regulator call “unsuitable for family viewing”
According to KFCB, the kissing scene in the new AD, which is part of Coca Cola’s “Taste the Feeling” campaign, violates family values.
The controversial scene, which several parents had taken to social media to rant about, shows a brief steamy act where a couple is getting cozy and kissing.
KFCB Chief Executive Officer, Ezekiel Mutua yesterday announced that Coca Cola had agreed to edit out the “offensive” scene.
“The advert will be edited and, effective tonight Wednesday 13th April 2016, there will be a new version without the offensive kissing scenes that violate family values,” Mutua
Coca-Cola’s new campaign is being rolled out worldwide this year, according to the company website, depicting “a diverse cross-section of people from around the world enjoying ‘their’ Coca-Cola in simple, everyday moments.”
KFCB has not been in good books with the county’s young population especially after the body moved to ban Netflix afew months ago.
They accuse the regulator of being old-fashioned and too rigid for the modern world.
