Game drive at Nairobi National Park 

Nothing beats the convenience of going for a safari at the Nairobi National Park, which is located within the city and is apparently the only of its kind in the world.

You have the option of doing either a half-day or full-day safari, I personally recommend half-day; I find it more convenient and less hectic.

You have the option of either doing a self-drive, taking the KWS bus or hiring a van or landcruiser. There are always drivers offering these services at the park entrance but to avoid inconveniences it’s best to book your driver ahead of time.

I always recommend Sam of Enkop Sidai Adventures; he is a very knowledgeable and experienced tour guide who does Maasai mara expeditions as well in case you want to go out of the city.

The Giraffe center

Fancy getting up close to giraffes; learning about their conversation; feeding them and even getting a kiss from these tall friends? they consider the Giraffe Center for a fun weekend hang-out.

The Giraffe Centre, located just 15 15-minute drive from the city center, has also become world-famous as a Nature Education Centre

Mall culture 

Nairobi has a thriving mall culture; from Westlands to East lands. The Two Rivers and Sarit Center malls are particularly popular for lots of kids activities from skating; go-kart you name them.

Ice Skating at the Panari Sky Center

If you have teenagers they may enjoy ice skating at the Panari Center along Mombasa Road, where you can also dine as well. The ice skating rink can accommodate 200 skaters at any time and is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Bike Riding in Karura and picnic 

For nature lovers Karura forest is the place to be; here you can have a picnic, bike ride, job, birth watch, h
