You mean I will be going home on a train ? Now that’s worth it
They are just starting let’s give them time. Soon they will introduce a night train from Mombasa to Kisumu. Let’ thank KR for this initiative and support it.

What a long journey! Someone who left by bus will be taking lunch in Lwangni hotel by 1 pm in Kisumu while the train will still be meandering along with the rift valley escarpment
Departing at 6:00pm and arriving at 5:00am would make plenty of sense.
Do your business in Nairobi, catch the evening train, sleep till morning, arrive in Kisumu and do something else.
Traveling shouldn’t be a whole days’ job.
But again what do I know?
This is great, holiday to Mombasa with style
This generation will enjoy it. This is great thought by the government of Kenya. What we yearn for is progressive moves. Kudos
A good start. But work on upgrading it to high speed. For now advantage over buses/shuttles, it’s better on mass transit, more cost-friendly, safer, smoother.
However, if we can move from Nbo to Ksm in 3.5hrs like the coast-bound one, business people who want to do to-and-fro affordably will benefit immensely. Good job.
