The Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered the arrest of six police officers involved in the murder of Kianjokoma brothers; Benson Njiru and Emmanuel Mutura.

The DPP orders follow recommendations by the Independent Police Oversight Authority(IPOA) calling on all police officers linked to the deaths of the two Embu brothers suspended and to be charged with murder.
“We have completed investigations into the deaths of Benson Njiru and Emmanuel Mutura at Kianjokoma, Embu county. Apart from murder, the suspects might be charged with negligence in the performance of duty“, IPOA chairperson Anne Makori said.
The two siblings, Benson Njiru, 22, and Emmanuel Mutura, 19, were arrested for allegedly flouting the 10 pm-4 am curfew on Sunday, August 1, outside their family shop in Kianjokoma shopping centre, only for their bodies to be found in a morgue at the Embu Level 5 Hospital.
Senator Mutula KilonzoJR has accused the suspects of having caused the vehicle transporting the brothers to be torched during a public protest over the deaths of the two boys in order to conceal evidence and called on the DPP to preserve the police station as a crime scene.
“Preservation of evidence is key bwana DPP. The police station is a crime scene #JusticeForKianjokomaBrothers” Senator Mutula said.
The murder of the two siblings have sparked a public uproar on social media with netizens calling for #JusticeForKianjokomaBrothers.
