The family of the four young men who were killed in Kitengela over a mistaken identity are demanding justice for their kin and have urged police to arrest all the people involved in their brutal murder.

The four included two brothers (Fred Mureithi, 30, his younger brother Victor Mwangi who was celebrating his 25th birthday) and their two cousins (Mike George, 29, and Nicholas Musa, 28 ), who had gone to visit a relative in Kitengela for a housewarming party and to celebrate Victor’s birthday.

Speared to Death

The evening turned tragic after the four took on their sports bikes at around 6pm to buy chicken in Kisaju but a stop near a riverbank at Enkamulyat area (14km from Kitengela town) reportedly after one of the bikes developed a mechanical failure some, was their only mistake.

Maasai residents who saw the dreadlocked young men and their motorbikes parked by the riverbank thought they were thieves out to steal their cattle and speared them to death.

The mother of the two brothers, who resides in the US, arrived in the country yesterday for their burial.

The police are yet to make any arrests but according to Isinya OCPD Charles Chepkonga investigations are still ongoing.

“We have not arrested anyone so far but our DCI officers are on the ground trying to unravel the murders,” said Chepkonga.

The young men will be buried in Leshau Pondo, Mayu village, in Nyahururu on Friday or Saturday.

The death of the four young men comes in the background of the murder of two teenagers, code-named, the Kianjoma brothers, in the hands of the police.
