Mutahi Ngunyi Runda Home Goes Up in Flames

Political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, has lost his 27-year-old home in Runda after it went up in flames in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Although the cause of the fire is yet to be known, Mutahi Ngunyi has pointed an accusing finger at political opponents aligned to Deputy President William Ruto, saying the attack was triggered by his remarks on the 2008 KIAMBAA violence on his  5th Estate youtube platform.

The fire reportedly started at 1:45am.

In a tweet directed by controversial blogger Dennis Itumbi, who works with the DP, Mutahi wondered how Itumbi got photos of his burning house exactly 16 minutes after the fire broke out and made them public.

@MutahiNgunyi: My FREN @OleItumbi MY house in Runda for 27 years WENT on FIRE at 1.45 am. You TOLD the Hustlers at 2.01 am. About 16 minutes LATER. That is after I talked about KIAMBAA violence of 2008 on 5th Estate. Here is a BETTER picture than the one you POSTED. Enjoy.
In his tweet, Itumbi had broken the news of Mutahi Ngunyi’s burning house, sarcastically asking for the Dear Fire Brigade and the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, which Ngunyi has always supported to rush and save him.

Dennis Itumbi: Dear Fire Brigade, please rush and save @MutahiNgunyi Runda House from FIRE.@NMS_Kenya quick action for a guy who supports you if nothing else. Hope the man is safe and family OK. Other than the tweet, I can only pray that you suffer the LEAST damage and be safe!
