‘4o Sticks’, a star-studded, 90-minute feature film featuring some of the best actors in Kenya is set to premiere on Netflix on 3oth November, becoming the third Kenyan film to air on the streaming platform after Poacher, Sincerely Daisy and Disconnect.

’40 Sticks’ revolves around the story of a group of death row prisoners, who are trapped in a prison bus that crashes and their struggle to survive. Their misery is worsened by a mysterious killer that lurks in the shadows.
The film is produced by SensePlay in partnership with Film Studios Kenya, Bingi Media and Ogopa Inc. It was shot in Nairobi across 5 locations over a 16-day shoot period in February 2019.
NETFLIX APPOINTS TV PRODUCER DOROTHY GHETUBBA MANAGER INTERNATIONAL ORIGINS
Last year, the global streaming company hired Kenyan award-winning TV producer and CEO Spielworks Media, Dorothy Ghettuba, as its manager for International Originals. In the same year, Netflix announced plans to commission original shows from Africa by 2019.
Dorothy Ghettuba’s role as Netflix Manager for international originals has arguably played a major role in putting Kenyan films on the global map.
